BANGERS & MASH is an ode to the fresh soul music scene in Ottawa, Ontario. On Saturday March 18, we're hosting 7 bands and 4 DJs in 2 venues over 5 hours. 
STAGE #1 HOUSE OF TARG

Mackenzie Rhythm Section (Funk/Soul)
Ottawa's Mackenzie Rhythm Section offers a show where rhythm and energy dominate. MRS gives a new meaning to the expression "Sweat on the dance Floor" with a unique style of music - The "Soul Step" - Soul sang from the heart and Rock Solid Funk. For fans of good times & cutting a rug!!!

The Hornettes (Ott R&B, Funk, Soul and Motown)
Formed in Ottawa, Ontario in 2010, The Hornettes are a fire-breathing funky beast with a single purpose: heart racing, feet pacing, soul shaking, earth quaking dance floor bedlam. Sexual tension and heart-stopping stares ooze from the front-women, supported by the hottest horn section in town, and nature’s strongest form: the rock-solid rhythmic triangle of guitar, drums and bass. A funky love-child of the best of Motown and the current soul revival, The Hornettes will leave you panting, chanting and heart transplanting. Pound for pound, the best sound in town.

Slack Bridges (Ott Soul / R&B)
a 6-piece group from Ottawa, combining classic motown and soul with modern R&B and hip-hop. Their first collection of songs, titled “EP1,” has received acclaim in local press, and has seen frequent airplay on CBC, CHUO, CKCU and CKDJ. The track “Whole Lotta Love” was featured in House of PainT’s 2016 “Decolonize” mixtape.

Tropikombo (Members of the Souljazz Orchestra)
This hard-hitter rhythm section’s raw and relentless percussive pulse and fiery horns stoke the coals for an in-your-face vocal in English, Spanish and Portuguese to ultimately bring you a 5-piece mash-up of the most obscure subgenre crossovers of Latin, Caribbean and African inspired dance music.
