RENT-A-COPS (Ottawa’s The Police Tribute)
The Police played CBGB 20 October 1978 - Having arrived at 10.30 for a midnight set, the unknown trio were forced to soundcheck to their audience, but once they hit the stage, their alien blend of soaring tenor vocals and Echoplex pop-reggae went down a storm. Their second 2.30am set saw the band extending instrumental sections due to lack of material, an enforced approach that was to influence their entire subsequent modus operandi.

MARKi TEARDROP - Suicide Tribute
Members of Ottawa Electro Pop/Post-Punk outfit MARK ii perform the songs of America minimalist electronic duo SUICIDE. SUICIDE were active between 1970-2016 & were one of the first to use the term “PUNK” although they are know for creating the blueprints for the post-punk, synthPop & industrial movements to follow much later. This unmeasurably influential, but not widely know act often shared the bill with emerging Punk bands at CBGB.
