SWITCHED ON SYNTHS: Synthwave Edition
An evening of neo-1980s inspired synthy good times.

DANA JEAN PHOENIX (Toronto Synthwave)
Dana Jean Phoenix is a Synthwave artist from Toronto, who got her start touring internationally as a vocalist for Juno Award Winner Jully Black, and then as the front woman for the Juno Nominated electro-funk band God Made Me Funky.

Dana Jean has since gained a following in the international Synthwave scene, collaborating with Dreamwave and Darksynth heavyweights as GosT, Perturbator, Timecop1983, Highway Superstar, and Sunglasses Kid. Her original music has been featured on 'The Voice' (US), and the original feature film ‘The Walking Deceased’.

In 2017, her collaboration with Dutch dreamwave artist @Timecop1983 'Dreams (Feat. Dana Jean Phoenix)', was featured in the Netflix original films 'You Get Me' and 'Coin Heist'. The song will also be featured in the upcoming video game 'Crossing Souls', an old-school action adventure with RPG touches, that will be released on PS4 and PC on Feb. 13, 2018.

Dana's latest album, 'Synth City' features production from Timecop1983, The Northern Lights, Highway Superstar, Robots With Rayguns, London Lazers, Till Wild, and The Amazing Mr. S and has been featured on the Synthwave scene's leading sites and blogs: New Retro Wave, Vehlinggo, and Drive Radio.

MICHAEL OAKLEY (Glasgow UK Synthwave)
Michael Oakley, musician and singer from Glasgow,  projects us into the 80s but with a little touch of very substantial modernity. A music that nostalgically recalls the romantic moments of iconic movies from the 80s like those of Joe Dante and Spielberg, or mythical series like Miami Vice or K2000.  The artist’s voice, which blends perfectly with the spirit of the 80’s, is automatically reminiscent of the voices of the leaders of Tears for Fears, Simple Minds and A-ha. A clever blend of epic synthesizer sounds, masterfully compressed rhythms, typical guitar melodies to captivating choruses filled with disturbing vibrations. This is the real deal folks!

HARD SCIENCE (Ottawa Analog Synth Dream Pop)
Hard Science produces synth laced, dream pop at his home studio in Ottawa, ON. He also produces live visuals and music videos for artists in Canada and beyond! He is also the Ottawa Synths guy & longtime Switched On Synths collaborator.
