BANGERS & MASH is an ode to the fresh soul music scene in Ottawa, Canada. On Saturday April 18, we'll be hosting 10 incredible acts in multiple venues in Ottawa's Old Ottawa South. From Motown and R&B to jazz fusion and big brass, we promise that bands will only be playing their heaviest hitting material: the bangers.

SLY HIGH (Sly & The Family Stone Tribute)
Sly High' is the ultimate tribute to the timeless music and genius of 'Sly & The Family Stone'. This 11 piece powerhouse band delivers an outrageous show which will leave you jumping out of your seat and screaming for more. Sly High focuses on capturing the heart and soul of Sly &The Family Stone's music all the way from their early hits of 1968 including 'Everyday People' and 'Dance to the music' all the way up to the end of the bands catalog in the early 70's. 

Their short blast in the public eye provided the world with so much amazing music that broke down racial barriers and prejudices. Sly & the Family Stone wrote music for Everyday People.

THE LIONYLS (Ottawa Rock & Soul)
The Lionyls are a four-piece Rock & Soul outfit based in Ottawa, Canada with an unmistakable sound and ability to make their audiences move. Inspired by rhythm & blues, funk, soul, and rock & roll traditions, they have crafted an organic sound that is both timeless and current, raw and refined. The band combines elements from many different genres to create songs that transcend social and cultural barriers and connect people from all walks of life. After winning the Live 88.5 Big Money Shot in 2014 The Lionyls caught the attention of music fans across the Ottawa Valley. They spent the following three years honing their craft with a non-stop performance schedule performing at landmark festivals and events including: Ottawa Bluesfest, CityFolk, HOPE Volleyball, the National Arts Centre, and Westfest, and supported some of Canada’s biggest names including: Sam Roberts, Serena Ryder, and The Trews. Finally, in April 2017 they released their self-titled debut full-length album, The Lionyls, and toured across Canada in support of the new record.

Since forming in 2018, the Good Advice powerhouse has been making waves on the Ottawa scene playing club shows and festivals including the Westboro FUSE Street Festival, and CityFolk's Marvest
